neon string help plz

I bought this string that blinks to the music about a year ago and im making a new layout for my trunk and want this in. How can i get it powered without plugging it into my ciggarette lighter? Just hook one wire to the battery and one to the ground?

splice it into your trunk light wires

I would do that^ so that when you open your trunk they go on. You can wire it straight to the battery but make sure you put an inline switch on it so its not constantly on.

There is 2 wires going into the head lamp in the trunk. A pink wire going to the switch that turns it on and a brown and white wire that goes to the ignition illumination. Do i put one wire to each of them or one wire to the pink and one wire to the ground?

assuming its got +12v with the trunk open? test it to be sure

If you tap into the power feed for the trunk light then the only time that stringlight will operate is when the trunklid is open. If that's what you're wanting then disregard this post but I got the impression you were wanting that light to be on at other times?

My assumption (and resultant disclaimer in case I was wrong) was that he wanted the stringlight to be working while he was driving around listening to his setup rather than only when the trunklid was up.
