needing help

i'm trying to install and after market head unit into my 2000 gmc sierra i followed an online wiring diagram for the stock radio to attach it. i wired it all in and it comes on but it doesn't have any sound coming out of the speakers. any help would be appreciated

well the speakers aren't hooked up then if u got power on the deck thats the only thing. And if the stock headunit worked then u just gotta look at it again and figure out what the speaker wires are I'll try and find some specs for ya.

that would be great. i looked at diagrams for the radio but there is three wires that wasnt used from the stock one. i know one is a dimmer wire which shouldnt need to be hooked up but any farther than that idk

Tape off the ones you dont use

Ground Black

Illumination Gray

Dimmer Brown

Antenna Right Window Trim

Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors

Left Front (+) Tan

Left Front (-) Gray

Right Front (+) Light Green

Right Front (-) Dark Green

Rear Speakers 4" x 6" Side Pillar

Left Rear (+) Brown

Left Rear (-) Yellow

Right Rear (+) Dark Blue

Right Rear (-) Light Blue

could be more complicated if you have some sort of premium sound components or amplifiers

that might be it cause it doesnt have a yellow cable and the orange is switchable and i found a dark green that was a constant
