sorry, but i need more expertese from people who have heard a lot of subwoofers. I am thinking about getting a 15" Power Acoustik MOFO series woofer or a Re Se line 15" sub. Does anyone know any 15" subs that are better than these subs and are still in that price range? Please list some. If one of these two are the best u can think of, say which one is better. I am looking for any info on choosing another sub.

P.S. They will need to perform well in a 3.4 ft^3 ported box.

thanx in advance:D

Alpine Type-R 15=220$

Rockford fosgate punch hx2 15=179$

JL audio 15w3 dont know the price......mabye 200$

Good luck and I would choose the jl audio, because im a jl fan and it has good sound for such low power rms

Its a entry level sub and decent....I had the power acoustic fubr10 and 15 and they were ok, but didnt sound as clean as my jl audios.............Basically its a quality factor, alpine has better quality than power acoustic.........come on now power acoustic has be inroduced to walmart incase people didnt know that if you go to walmarts online store you can purchase power acoustic subs..............

what kind of jl subs? and what size and what amp did you power them with????????

"i got 2 12in sound stream tarantulas and they hit way louder then my 3 jls did my tarantulas shattered my back window for phuk sac"

Oh yeah i'll bet you shattered your back window....If the old mobile technologies austin mini in my city couldn't do it with 3 18w3's then i doubt you even came close....

Hey I dont know what your talking about the jl audio 15w3 holds 400-500rms so 3 of them would be 1500watts now add the 18 and you would be around about 1700watts so your off by saving 1200watts and jl is also underated and I bet you could do alot of damage with the 18w3 if the box is built correct and you use a good amp.......go to ikesound.com and read some of those comments on the alpine type-r 15's.....

I just recently got a RE SE 15 powered by a planet audio 850d.

It hits pretty hard even in my 94 Bonneville. You couldn't go wrong with it.

I'm not all that sure as for use in competitions though.

I wouldnt go as far as competition, because you would need some good doors and rear deck along with a good hu and maybe an eq and a great built box and a couple other factors such as the use of dynamat......good luck though

so, in conclusion, the RE SE will hit the hardest in a 3.4 ft.^3 box (i already made the box)? i also forgot to mention that i am running about 800 watts rms into the sub. once again, can anyone tell me if the SPL Competition subs are loud enough for the money?
