need to buy a gas sipper

Get an intake and exhaust... I drive my Silverado about 500-600 miles a week. When it was stock i got about 13mpg now with the duals and AEM intake im getting about 16+ on the highway. I fill up 2-3 times a week and it costs about $45 each time.
intake adds about 1-2 mpg, exhaust +2-3, fill your tires with nitrogen instead of air +1-2

lucas fuel treatment makes my gas tank last ffoorreevveerr, runs great while its in there too. $8 at auto zone, it guarantees itll more than pay for itself, and its good for your engine.

my truck is stock, i get like 14 mpg. with lucas = 17-20 depending on how i drive. highway.

Gas sipper FTW...
Shit... My 4 cyl truck is only getting about 18mpg. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

"only 18mpg"??? id kill for that, I get 8 mpg & drive ~60mi a day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

As for the OP, as other people have said try checking into a honda. Also some of the older saturns got some decent mpg.

I spent about $20 a week in my 240 (its not running right now)... but I drive it hard, and many of the miles are city miles. On top of that, since hurricane Katrina my city has been overcrowded as shit and makes city driving ghey. But I can drive a LONG way on the highway (Keeping my gas pedal in check) on just a little gas.

BILLABONG- Please explain a bit more about nitrogen in your tires? Id really like to know.

should i A: keep my tahoe and get a beater car (1500 or less)

B: sell my tahoe and get a jetta

C: sell my tahoe and get a cavalier sport

dont want to sell my trcuk but **** 70 miles round trip everyday is killinme on gas. or anyone have any idea how to improve my gas mileage alot on my tahoe...

only cars id be interested in would be something that come in manual and would be relatively sorta kinda fun to drive. maybe a regular wrx if i could find one for a decent price

get a desiel jetta.. i work at a car dealer ship and those thing go like crazy we just sold one yesterday

i think its like $5 a tire to have it filled up with nitrogen, but the molecules are bigger than air, so it doesnt leak out as easily. and it doesnt expand and crntract making your tire bigger and small on warm/cold days. as you know, if your low on air, more of the tire is on the ground = engine has to work harder to get it going. more air= easier the vehicle gets moving, and coasts easier at speeds. and they give you a blue sticker on your valve cap so techs know if you take your vehicle some place.

^^thats all what ive heard, i dont run nitrogen in my tires(yet). i worked at a carwah and oil bays and when you get to talking to people thats just what ive heard.

get a diesel VW golf. its got a hatchback so you can get a nice little system, and they get rediculous gas mileage. when i had mine, i had the automatic, and even driving the shit out of it everywhere i went, i still got 45+mpg around town.

ive talked to a few people with then and with a chip installed for better gas mileage, a 5sp transmission, and driving it easy, they get 55-60 around town.

if you're looking for efficiency, thats the way to go. my uncle had one with the automatic transmission, put 235,000 miles on it in 18 months and not a single thing gave him any mechanical problems or anything of the sort. you cant kill a VW diesel.

04 Accord Coupe. I get as between 30-36mpg on freeway ... as low as 25mpg in the city.

I use about $25 a month in gas. I have a really short commute.

If you are lookin for best mileage right now, you cannot beat the VW Diesels. Like galactic monkey said, people are reporting 50+ mpg

What gas are you using in your truck?

I stick with BP ... I by far get the best mileage with that, even 87 octane.

I tried used a tank ful of 93 octane from CostCo - lost 4mpg .... I track every tank I have had since I have owned the car, 47k miles.

i got an expedition right now... its absolutely horrible with gas mileage. when i had my 6 15s in i was getting around 7-8 around town. now that its all out im getting around 10-11. when i get my new stuff in, it will be around 3,000-4,000lbs, so im guessing ill be at like 5-6 around town //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif kinda wish i still had that golf! haha

well i had a V6 mustang with a 5spd and it got great gas mileage. the gearing on them is great for fuel efficiency. i got wayyy better than its rated for. maybe look into one of those.

i used to do that, but i found if you own a truck..you cant. itll drive you crazy. i know what i usually get per tank. if i figure out what i got per gallon on every fill up, it only made me want to get rid of my truck. but i love 4wd. plus my truck is paid for.

gas mileage + car payment = less money? i think not.
