trading

It will mainly depend on the specific members involved in the transaction and what's being traded.

A more established member with a demonstrable buying/selling history trading with someone who is a relative unknown might request that the newer guy ship first before the forum vet sends out a thing.

I'm currently involved in a trade with a member who hasn't been around so much and I was really fairly unaware of his forum existence until he responded to my Want To Trade thread.

Since I didn't know who he was at all I asked a bunch of questions about the item he had that he wanted to trade me. No matter how many questions I shot at him he simply sent back replies with the answers I was looking for.

Consequently the agreement that was made between he and I was that we would ship the same day and provide each other the applicable information about the respective shipments.

I sent my stuff USPS Priority Service so I gave my trading partner the Delivery Confirmation number, his insurance coverage label number, and the reciept showing where I sent the stuff to.

On his part, he shipped FedEx. He gave me the tracking number associated with my stuff.

Like I said - it's up to the individuals in question and whatever agreement they come up with. Each situation can be completely different from the one before it. No set of "rules" apply.
