Got me a pair of 15" Shocker Sigs, a pair of SAZ3Kd's and a couple sheets of MDF. Their home will be Jeep Grand Cherokee. Got alt and bats to back this up.

I'm thinking 7 or 8 cube with 160 square of port tuned to 35 port and subs facing either up or rear...still haven't decided. IF this won't break 150 how high should I tune?

I'm actually considering doing either dual ports with one that I could seal to tune for daily or just a separate box for daily listening.

dude you would break 150 on music with one of those.
x2...so with two 3ks you should have no prob....subs up port rear....and your calcs look good. might want to tune higher if you are concerned about #'s. try 35 first...try it out...then cut back the port if need be.

you may have to try several dif. boxes to get there but it is def. possible with the vehicle and eq. you have listed. like 2lo2flo said, subs up ports back. (try 8-10 cubic ft ,6" aeros for tuning) 2 years ago we had a explorer that went to sbn that did 152.5 w/2 ia dr15" w/ 1 40.1

try using 6 inch aeros ,cuz you can buy plumbing test caps to tune your box for music ,by plugging some or the ports.on mine i have 4 6 inch areos tuned to 58 hz for burp ,i plug 2 of them and it tunes down to 38 hz for music. i get a 152.8 burp and 150.6 music now.

I think by the time I got enough 6" rounds to get me the area I'm looking for I'd need way too much length to be practical

that is if you know how to build a box. you could even do mid 30s for tune
Really 150 is just to say I did it. I KNOW I'm happier with lower tuning so really my goal is to be able to hit 150 while keeping the tuning as low as possible.

You shouldn't own sig's

The BTL 18" wasn't really getting me there. LOL

For next summer I'll probably try to get into an 18" LMS 5400... For now I'm sort of feeling the shockers.

if i were you i'd pick up 2 of those 8 in aeros amartin is selling things work great and would make tuning cake for you great seller also btw
Actually the pair at 20" in 8ft would work out pretty well for me by the numbers, but it was always my understanding that you wanted a port width between the inside lip of the port and box wall and the outside lip of the port and any walls of the vehicle. I would consider tightening it up to 6" but no more.

Really I was looking at a BIG slot port but I'm still playing with numbers and ideas. I'd like to get this built this week.
