I have a 1972 Buick skylark, I currently have 1 vfl 150.1 and am thinking about getting another. I know upgrading needs to be done but would adding alts and bats be safe for an older car?
i dont see how upgrading your battery or alternator could be harmful. if anything it should help, it just might be hard to find a beefy alternator for a car so old.
He's got a GM product. If he can't find an actual HO aftermarket alternator finding a rewind kit for his existing Delco-Remy unit shouldn't be too difficult //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Those are sick cars. I could drop alot of money into one of those. The only thing i wonder is when the car is idling and you have a big ho alt. Is it the orginal motor ?
HO alts had a delco replacment 2?? amps for like $499, Dom said he can get me a 250 amp for like $350. My major concern would the output at idle, and how much would I need to power 2 VLF 150.1's strapped.
