Need subwoofer advice

I just purchased a MB Quart ONX4.125 I plan on running my front speakers off the front channel and my sub or subs off of the rear channel.

My budget is around $200.

The box I would like to build to keep it clean looking in the back would have the measurements of:

14" height

10" depth

38" Length

.75 cu ft of airspace.

I can make the box

14" hight

2" depth 1

12" depth 2

38" length

Port it and tune it.

Probably best to go sealed for that... There are subs that will let you do 12s sealed... 2x Fi Q12 wouldn't be too far out of its element in that small an airspace. I think Xcon would work. Havoc would definitely work if you could find it. And I don't know about LMS-R, but the older LMS stuff (e.g. 5400) was also great for small boxes.

What is trying to be achieved? Are you looking for as much output as you can' date=' given that space and power? Or looking to simply fill the lower frequencies?[/quote']
I just want something that will sound good for a everyday system. The front channel on the amp will be used to power some component speakers.

OP is using the rear channels of his Onyx 4 channel, giving him roughly 500rms for sub(s). Why not IDQ? SSA Dcon?

Well, when you're short on wattage, sensitivity is the spec to look at. I had thought of Peerless XXLS for their high sensitivity but 2 of those would be 2 ohms, which can't be done on that amp bridged.

Fi BTL has quite high sensitivity but is expensive...

I thought about the SSA DCON. I think I can use my second box option and port and tune the box for a SSA 10S4. I would tune the box to 30hz or there about. Would this be a good option? The sub would be mounted on the vertical part of the box not the slanted part. Would this make any difference?

I could also do 2 fi X10s .
