Need sub/s for Boat

Have 600 watts at 1 ohm... I'm actually thinking 2 10s/12s.. maybe cvr? These will be under a seat, out of the way, but I'm still wondering if there are some specifics I should look for in a sub that will spend its time in an "open" condition like a boat.

Probably not paper cone huh? Also thinking it is probably necessary to do a sealed box and seal it up tight in order to avoid humidity and moisture problems? Maybe coat the box in a resin and then a marine carpet?

I've never done a boat install before so I'm needing a little direction.

I think basically:

2 300 watt woofers (dual 4) or 1 600 watt woofer (dual 2)

Rubber surround? Non paper cone?

Work decently well sealed

Looking for some nice spl, and tolerable SQ...

idk about the subs but id coat the box in truck bed liner to keep the box dry

I don't know if they make a small enough can of roll on... If I had to buy a "tub" that cost 100 bucks it wouldn't be worth it, but I like the idea if I could get out for like 20 bucks or something... Ya'll think 2 12 cvrs could get the job done on 300watts a piece?

Short answer, yes, will get the job done. If a car is not a perfect acoustic stage, a boat is acoustic hell. Don't go for SQ subs because it will be hard to tell the difference. The CVRs sound good.

kicker makes a marine line of products now I believe for amps.

Box needs to be waterproofed by sealing it with any number of products.

sub CONES, if they are paper, could use a coat of flexible poly.

the box probably ought to be sealed to keep out moisture, trash, vermin, etc.

BATTERY ISOLATOR would be a good addition to this setup

no pics... it's at the lake in the shop... It's a 93 that looks like an 03... it's a beaut! There will def be pics once install is done... Month or so......?

Can CVRs get loud sealed? What should I use to "coat" the box? Um... thats all.

Didn't even think of that considering we kill the boat when we are in a cove or something... Probably some pretty good insurance, especially since it's an AB 5 channel!

All I had room for was a ported 10 so I am running a 10" SeXXX off of an RE 35.1, sounds pretty good.
