Need sub box opinions

Im planning on building my box for a pair of RE SX 12's and want to know whats the best specs for these subs single ported. I liked the look of of the right angled ported box like the one on the re website, i also heard good things about them. But just wanted to know if there is any other type of boxes that can be constructed to get loud geared more for spl. This same box will probably be made for my cousins type r's also.
