Ok I finally got the dimensions of my trunk. I have two 15 inch L5s nd I am ready to port them, they are sealed now. Now its going into an accord so there is not a whole lot of room.

It will prolly have to be two different boxes to be able to fit them in there. I have never built a ported box before that is why I need help. I want the port to be able to be changed from around 35 hz for daily driving and 50 hz for competition.

Trunk is 18 inches high.

Trunk is 40 inches deep.

The opening that goes into the cab measure: (kinda a "V" shape) the bottom of the opening is 20 inches wide, top of the opening is 32 inches wide, and the opening is 15 inches tall.

I dont know exactly what I want to tune it to. I heard 35 hz is good for rap. Is that correct or what would you suggest. Then I was thinking around 50 hz for compeition.

It doesn't matter to me if the subs are facing the front or back....whichever would be better.

I'm going for SPL

I really really really appreciate whoever decides to help me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm not the one who said that lol.

Anyways looks to be 39 inches between the wheel wells.

Box dimension (its not square, odd shaped):

16 1/2 in wide

15 1/2 tall

26 inches long on the right side (if you are standing behind the car)

24 inches long on the left side

Then there is a 6 inch gap in between the 2 boxes to help get the sound up to the cab.

Also why are you wanting to know the dimensions of my current boxes? I will build a new box(s) if needed.

what room do the subs need? how much power? PM me if you dont go with 80 and we can work something out. If you and 80 are talkin already, or whatever........dont come to me unless that falls through.

bump...anyone else care to help me?

Really need a box design before this weekend. I plan on building the boxes this weekend because there is a comp next weekend that I want to go to.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok i must have figured something wrong. I was trying different boxes i had on my mind to see which would be bigger. Well here is what i figured...

40 inches deep X 16 inches tall x 16 inches wide

That is for 1 box. I figured up around 5.9 cubic feet. That can't be right can it?

I dont really see me getting two boxes 6 cubic foot each in there.

Also is 16 tall and 16 wide big enough for the L5s. Or does it require more space to mount? I cant remember how big it is from edge to edge.

edit: theres no way that would work because i forgot about the actual size of the mdf. 16 + 16 is 32 and thats all the room i have there. Doesn't leave enough room for the MDF or the slots.

bump...really need some help

Check out the 1st post and click the pic to see the dimensions of my trunk. Wanna go as big as I can go. I am going for SPL.
