Need some tips on my new system

Hi all!

Im a noob to the site and for the most part a noob when it comes to car audio. I know some of the basics, but Im definatly far from being an expert.

Im looking for a little reassurance.

I purchased a JL 10w6v2 D4 and a JL 500/1. Planning on building a ported and sealed enclosure to see which one I like the best. I just want to make sure I understand the best way to hook them up.

I know that the 10w6v2 by its self can be set for 2 ohm or 8 ohm. And I know the 500/1 can handle 1.5 ohms to 4 ohms. But I want to make sure its simple a pug and play setup. asides from the frequency tweaking. Im assuming the 500/1 will detect the resistance and set its self up accodingly. is this true?

the amp will automatically see the 2 ohm load. you then have to set your gains. it may also be called input sensitivity. the gain matches the signal coming from your headunit. read the gain setting tutorial in the amp forum.
