need some help with my setup

i have 2 pyle pld15wd (15" 4000 watt) subwoofers and a pla-2260 (2ch 4000 watt) amp and was wondering on what kind of box to get or make, and how big it needs to be? on pyle's website it says each sub needs 8.689 cubic ft, but everyone i've talked to about this says that they don't need anywhere close to that much space or that they only last a couple weeks anyway.

please help me out

ok i know theyre only pyles and yes its highly unlikely they are pushing 4000 watts, but i dont even care if they sound like *** i just want to add some bump to my system, i mean i only paid 300 bucks and if they bump comparably to a pair of 12" CVRs i still came out ahead by paying half the price of my buddys setup

Said the subs were sold as a unit (2?) so my guess is the 8.6 cubes would be for both subs.....

Still that is a huge box, i would do more like 5 cubes at the most...

Pyle eh? Just buy a dual 15" ported box from eBay and call it a day.

well i bought the two subs, amp, and full wire kit for 300, but pyle sells each sub separate.

8.6 ported isnt too large for 2 15's. kicker l5 and l7 15's seem to do best in 5-6 cubes ported per sub. as for the pyles, they will probably get pretty darn loud actually. they wont have much sound quality no matter what box you use, so id port them in 8-10 cubes tuned in the 38-40 hz range. they'll get really loud, but they wont last long. expect a peculiar stink in your car in around 6 months.

edit: sealing them will probably add some life to the subs.

i was thinking sealed anyway cuz i'll be playin a lil more metal than like hip hop, but how big of chambers in a sealed? like 3-4 cubes?
