I have just started to put a system in a 99 dodge club cab (extra seat but no doors) . My son and I installed a sony xr-ca330 fm/am cassette http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=sonxrca330

with a Sony CDX-757MX 10-Disc CD Changer

We are looking at 10" subs that will fit under the seat in the back. Looking to build a decent system without breaking my wallet. We have not changed the stock speakers out yet but will have to soon !!! We have been looking at these choices.

We plan on setting up two 10" with 2 Channel Amplifier any suggestion ???

I like the Polk GNX10 or the JBLGT100 and my son likes the Rockford HE RFP3410. I have did some checking to see what will work but found this site. Seems like a few experts in here will consider all sug....

do u want mainly spl or do you just want an sq setup???

if it was me i would go for 2 elemental design k series 10's for 225$ that would give u better sq an spl at out of all the ones ur are looking at, the website is edesignaudio.com if u wanna take a look at the k series

For cheap SQ subs, you really can't beat Alpine.....The K's sound nice but I still wouldn't say they sound better than the type R in the SQ department. You might consider a single sub setup and give a type R or something similar the full 250w in the largest sealed box you can fit (within the driver's perimeters of course). Big boxes have great low end extention, meaning you'll get that teeth-rattling bass you normally wouldn't get with a small sealed box. It probably wouldn't be louder than a pair of subs on 125w each, but it certainly would have a lot more frequency range and would probably give you the bump you're looking for.

Just from what you have said and the products you listed I would choose the Infinity sub. If you are looking for SQ, that definitely eliminates RF, and those Kenwood subs arent anything worth paying for. I havent heard the JBL subs, but I can tell you that Polk makes decent sounding stuff so you would probably be happy with those subs too. Also, you might want to take a look at Boston and MB Quart. They are both very good companies that that specialize in SQ.

my friend has an xtant 12" he got for like $150. It's like 125W RMS and 300W max I think. It's quite a decent little sub which makes his car have a full sound. He has a Kenwood amp with the exact same specs as his sub, wattage-wise. Installing it yourself, I'd say you could spend about $300 to $400 for all of that low-end sound stuff. Xtant is a pretty good brand, but I don' tknow if they're available in all areas.

then again, I have 2 12" alpine Type R's and they are very nice SQ subs. You might have to throw some power at them though. If you get one 10", I don't really know what kind of amp you should push them with, but it might be more than an xtant like I said above.

for the comparision of the Type R and the K-series sub..the K-series has an edge in the SQ and a long lead in SPL. of course thats if they are properly installed.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
