Need some clarification!

Looking to add a second battery in my f150, I want to run the batteries in parallel because I don't listen to the radio with off very often and would like the extra power. I have already done the big 3 (actually 4), installed a dc engineering 270 HO alt, and dropped in a xs power d6500 starting battery up front. While this is supplying just enough power for my sundown scv2000d, I am looking to add another 1000 watt amp for an x8.

Anyways my question is, Do I have to get another d6500 to run in parallel or can I use a xp3000? They are closely priced but I see that the xp3000 has quite a lot more ah. I just see people saying that if you don't use the exact same battery it can cause discharging and early wear.

Btw the secondary battery will be located in a custom center console.

you can add whatever battery you want just make sure its an agm. and i hope your not adding an x8 along with a different size sub. thats a big NONO

That 270 should power that no problem.

Okay thank you. And its not going in the same box or anything. I have two sa-12s in the back and I am planning to design a center console to hold the x8 and the extra battery.

And I may end up going with an sa-8 and a sundown 600d

thats what i meant. don't mix subwoofer sizes. whatever you are thinking it is wrong.

you are mixing sub sizes you just don't do that. if you want a mid bass speaker get that but an 8" subwoofer is a SUBWOOFER.

you'll run into cancelation and all this other musical mumbo jumbo you don't want.
