post pics of your grounds, and how did you set the gains? your probably clipping the amp into protect. manual does say its 1 ohm stable so it cant be that. you sure all your subs are D2, read the impededance load the amp is getting. pics help alot.

first off the only thing i dont really like about the sub amp is there is literaly no numbers on any of the dials...and gain is only bout half...can i clip from my gain being set to low or is that only a to much is bad thing?? dont think pics will help there.. grounds are r all bare metal past the primer either in stock locations or very near the stock gnd locations...

your eq and HU can also be clipping EQs also introduce clipping into the system. maybe half is too much gain, ive had gain at 1/4 ad it was all i needed.

Depending on your input voltage an amp can clip with gain at minimum. The gain is not a volume or output knob. It matches the head units output to the amps input. You said you have lots of fuses. Fuses can and will limit current to an extent. How many fuses are there? My first thought would be ground. Second thought would be subwoofer wiring. Check the voltage of your amp when it cuts out. Does it protect or shut off? Also check to see what the remote wire drops to when it shuts off

my head unit is cheap pioneer but max vol is 62 and i dont go above 45.. its only 2v out but eq supposed to be 4v-7v idk i gotta look..so dont know if that is the deal.. ima turn the gain down a bit on sub amp just to see.. ima swap it out for my pioneer deh p980bt deck in the next day or so but for now i wanna see if there is any thing i can do to fix besides that..thanks for the input..i see u got the same jbl comps..these things r great and with that memphis sending each door around 200..200+ watts @ 2ohms they sound great and i didnt even deaden doors yet..

my install is front batt 150a fuse 2/0 back to another 150a fuse more 2/0 to distri block sub amp has a 150a fuse and steps wire to 4 ga mids/highs amp has a 40a fuse stepped to 4 ga to amps..so if my eq puts out that many volts am i not able t run on that amp??

ive been doing systems for years and always have tuned by ear based on the distortion i hear when setting gains...how would i do with a dmm?...im saving up to get the combo smd dd1/cc1 i believe those r the ones i need..but if i can do it with a dmm i have one and would like to try that and see how far off i am..ya know..

there is only 1 gnd im not 100 % sure about but the rest of them i really dont know hw i could make them better..any tips on how to do the grounds?..so i can compare to my methods..

sand like a mofo, bolt and nut. that simple. no self tapping screws.

If the amp is grounded to the body make sure there is a good ground the same size as your power wire going to the body from the battery also. Most cars/trucks put the main ground to the engine and just a cheesy ground wire to the body.
