please read the thread i linked you to. like i said pay a lot of attention to Chad's comments. mild clipping is ok, if your not seeing the clipping lights blink a tiny bit every now and then you are wasting power. that thread should explain everything to you.kk, so it just depends on the frequencies im assuming? like I can play Hypnotize- Young jeezy with the remote gain knob maxed out and have no problems with the light lighting, but on a song like Money Man-Gorilla Zoe or No Help-Trae, the light will start to turn on around 3/4 or less....should i maybe reset my gains? what would be of choice? 50 hz sine wave @ -3db (What i set it with) or would something else be better?
i made that thread asking why my clip lights on my 4 channel were blinking while playing music. the amp i am referring to is rated at 200x2 for my mids, and 100x2 for my tweeters. i didn't have it up THAT loud and still have the light blinking. am i pushing 300 watts rms into my front speakers? NO, but the rail voltage of the amp is being met on large peaks. so on large peaks i AM sending my comps (that are rated at 60 watts a side) a good 300 watts on very large peaks. yes it's loud but not that loud. and i honestly don't think i need to give them more power than i am. 300 watts a side already sounds CRAZY, but like i said i am on that amp still blinking the light a tiny bit at times.
