Need people who know alot about amps

I wouldn't say complete junk, but not my fav for sure.... Cheap.
If you are gonna build amps, and don't want to be on the same shelf as Boss, Rockwood, Pyramid etc, then you are going to have to build amps that people "want" not that they can "afford". There are plenty of people out there with money to buy good amps if you make them. You may not get rich, but you may not get rich selling cheapy amps either. I am not saying build the best amps on the planet, but DO stay away from the cheapy cheap prototypes, if it looks junky on the inside, it most likely is junky... If you want to discuss it more we can talk in private, you can email me sales@db-r.com. These forums are not the place to discuss it really....

You're right I will be in touch later on.

I think you're giving the casual car audio consumer way too much credit. They like Sony and Jensen because they give you 1200 MAX WATTS!!! For ~$100. Plain and simple. And I'd say about 90% of the market is like that.

The forum frequenters and those like us make (people who appreciate quality gear) are in the relatively very small minority, and because of that the the $0.50-$1.00 a watt amps have a VERY limited customer base, and a very established, small group of suppliers. It's a market that's very difficult to enter, or to have longevity in. Which explains, quite obviously, the collapse of a number of companies that were long considered "quality" brands.

None of the cheap companies can get in because once you get labled "junk" - even if you DO produce a QUALITY product it's next to impossible to get the market to accept it as such. So natually all the 2nd (3rd...) tier companies are suckered into low cost/high volume/diminishing quality to keep the profits at an acceptable level.

It's probably not unreasonable to expect another round of companies to go under with the economy in its current, and probably worsening condition. There are going to be a lot of people struggling to stay fed, let alone keep their car loaded with expensive equipment.

This is very true. I know it will be hard to get into the industry but it is not solely for me. I will not be trying to make a fortune, my main reason, being a car audio fanatic myself, would be to produce the best product possible and price the product to where everybody can afford them. I know there are already established suppliers that do this but they are few, hell there are few quality amp manufacturers period.
