need opinions

So one of my friends was just given a JBL 75.4 amp (not sure if thats the exact model name but its what it says on the test sheet) for doing some car work ,and he has no interest in using it, offered me it for 80$, now im not exactly sure what id do with it, and thats why i am here, i was thinking of doing a pair of speakers in the kick and maybe else where. Im hoping you guys can just toss me a few ideas since ill proably buy it anyways. It sats itll do just under 150 rms at 2 ohms, which is about what mine are already set at. Id ask if adding more speakers is over kill, but ive seen your guys systems on here and mines nothing compared haha

Is it the one with tinted plexiglass? It's definitely worth it if in good working condition. I believe there are 2 versions of that thing. The first one does 75x4 into 4 ohms, version 2 does 104wx4 into 4 ohms. I've ran it for 7 years, it's awesome. My friend has been running it since then, no problems. Jump on it.

thats what im thinking, he was given 2 of them to replace an altenator! according to the sheet its the 104 at 4 ohms, i think one has plexy, one doesnt, but i loved that it matches my JBL 1400.1

we hooked it up to test it on his car and only got bass sounds out of it, ran out of time to play with it, so its in the air at the moment

Not that you guys didn't think of it already, but crossovers and all that were set right?

yeah everything looked correct to me, but there has to be something thats changing it, i told him to let me wire it this time and see what happens

Yeah, double check x-over settings, x-over frequency. Make sure he didn't somehow screw with x-overs on the deck.

Hey since i already have this thread started, since im just using spekaers for this amp, does it really matter how i enclose them? i want to put 2 in the kick and 2 probably in this amp rack im building just to add some highs up right behind my sub box, not sure how itll sound but i have no other ideas
