Need help with electrical system

I have decided to get 2 kicker l7 15's and the zx1500.1 amp for my 88 suburban and have realized I need to upgrade my electrical system. I dont think my current battery and alternator are powerful enough to run the kickers. I am running low on money so I need help finding the cheapest battery and alternator that would run my system well. Also, based on the new system I'm getting, what exact specifications should I look for when searching for a new battery and alternator.

Replace your starting battery with a Kinetik HC1800 or larger, whatever fit in your existing battery holder.

Put a Kinetik HC 1400 in the rear.

As for alternator, get a 150 amp or better.

With this and the big 3 you can run that amp full tilt boogie without issue.

You can get cheaper batteries, but if I had the cash I would do exactly what I said above.

Someone else may have a better recommendation, but what I suggested will work fine.

All of that isnt needed for a 1500 watt max system. Big 3 should be all you need...if not, a yellow top under the hood.

x's 10 !!!!

anyone that thinks a stock 130 amp alt needs more than the big 3 and maybe 1 small 20-40ah 2nd battery for 1500 -2000 rms needs their head examined lolz.

So is the big three enough and a HO alternator not needed? Im also confused on whether I should upgrade my battery. Getting three different answers is really not helping me.

Alright...

Your alt should be fine to handle a 1500 watt system as well as your battery. But to make things better. Do the big three. That should be enough...if not then your stock battery really sucks and I mean really sucks and you'd best upgrade it. Yellow top would do fine as well as a kinetik Hc1200 or HC1800.

There are other batteries out there that will work as well. Hope this helps, GL.

i say do the big 3 in the thickest wire possible. if you still get voltage drop, then bigger battery under the hood, or a battery in the back. frankly, with a 130amp alt and a decent battery, the big 3 shuld be just fine with only ~1700 real rms. I have seen 80 amp alt cars with stock batt's run fine with only big 3 with similar power amps.

dont get a HO alt unless you need it, which you dont. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

recap:

Big 3

MAYBE repalce batt under hood, or small batt in back.

Small batt in the back is NOT nessessary. Unless you want a 3000+ watt system...then extra batts aren't needed.

Thanks a lot for help. Just doing the big 3 will save me a lot of money. One more question. If it turns out doing just doing the big 3 isn't enough, what will I notice happening to my car? What signs should I look for that indicate I need to upgrade my battery?
