Quick Question on Engine to Chassis Ground

I'm not that big into engines, so looking at my engine I can't seem to find a suitable place to use for a ground connection(on the engine). My alt has a couple of free bolts, so could I use one of those as a grounding point? I guess I'm just a little nervous connecting a 1/0 gauge wire to the positive post going to the battery and another 1/0 cable to a bolt going to the chassis for grounding purposes. I know the alt casing is already grounded since it's connected to the engine body in the first place...but I could have sworn I read somewhere that you should never connect a ground directly to your alt casing. Can anyone shed some light on this...and any prior experiance doing the upgrade to a 'stang is a plus. Thanks!

I goggled mustang engine grounds and it said to bolt it under the power steering pump to the sway bar bracket.

But if its like any Chev, (even though it's a ford ) Around the trannie there should be a big bolt with a bunch of grounds going to it,

it's fine to just ground to the alternator casing. The wire that is supposed to be "Engine block to ground" is simply because most cars don't have an easily accesible bolt on the alternator case, but the wires purpose is to ground the alt. So if it's easy to get to, then do it...
