need help wiring

im wiring a treo csx 1.5 ohm to my ultimate t3-1000D and am confused by the 1.5 ohm. People tell me series-parallel but that also confuses me.

if its dual 1.5, you can wire it down to .75ohms(parallel) or 3 ohms(series).

According to http://www.treoonline.com/csx.html those subs are 2-ohm DVC. A 2-ohm DVC can be wired in parallel for a 1-ohm load, in series for a 4-ohm load, or each voice coil can be amped seperately, for 2 2-ohm loads.

The specs for your amp:

Bridged:

650w @ 4 ohm

900w @ 3 ohm

1200w @ 2 ohm

Stereo:

170w x 2 @ 4 ohm

260w x 2 @ 3 ohm

360w x 2 @ 2 ohm

400w x 2 @ 1.5 ohm

To get the most power, you should wire each voice coil to a seperate channel on the amp. Then, make sure you feed each channel with the same signal (split a mono signal with a y-cable). Make sure the gains and filters are set exactly the same on each channel on the amp. This should give you 720w to your sub.

To get the full 1200w to the sub, you would need a 4-ohm DVC sub, or a 2-ohm SVC.

noooo!!! subs sometimes have multiple coil configurations to allow you to change the impedance presented, not to use more than one amplifier.... you should not use more than one amp per sub unless your amps are strapable... otherwise, it is not a good idea to do this for daily use... its not even a good idea to wire each coil to a serperate channel

i dont think that amp is 1-ohm stable, so you're gonna have to wire the sub in series and run it at 4ohms

Wouldnt he be better off wiring each 2ohm coil to a seperate channel?

That would give him 360w per coil (720w) instead of 650w @ 4ohm mono.

like i said, not recommended in a daily setup... basicaly because the two coils are not exactly the same, and arent intended to be driven separately, and different channels of the amp may not have exactly the same output
