ok I just installed my system yesterday, and today....

well the amps don't turn on??? ( they are brand new)

I'm getting voltage at the amp, so I know its getting power.... ( I used a clip on test light )

how do i test the remote lead?

how can i test my grounds? ( I presume if power is entering the amp then it must be grounded properly??? )

Neither amp will turn on, and both are new? Yeah, it sounds like the remote turn-on. I don't know if the test light will draw too much power from the remote turn-on to test it without hurting the head unit. Do you have a DMM?

You can also try just putting a short piece of jumper wire between the + power and the remote turn-on, just to see if the amp turns on. Make sure you disconnect the remote turn-on wire that goes to the HU first.
