need help installing my new sub

i have a rockford p1000 amp and i just bought a single JL w0 12".

my amp has 4 speaker terminals on the back that look like this: + - + -

the sub is a SVC 4 ohm. which terminals to i hook my wires up to?

also what does the FREQ. Hz knob do on the back of my amp?

It is a monoblock amp so you can hook to either set. The frequency should be set at around 80hz.

yeah its a mono amp. they ports are labeled A and B.

what do the Hz mean? what happens if i turn it all the way up to 250?

i cant get the sub to work. i wired it to A but its not playing. what am i doing wrong? the amp has power.
