So I have 2 massive audio 12" gtx124 and a skar 1500rp my head unit is a single dim pioneer deh something and today **** got weird my subs are making a weird noise now. So I took out the subs and put in my old skar evl 12 and it's still not right. My head unit is at volume 45(out of 62) the meter doesn't show any clipping lpf 80hz hpf 80hz sub control -6 then 12db. My amp gain is 3/4 of the way up subsonic not sure the number but about a quarter way up. And the evil 12 is rated for 1250 watts and with all that I measured the amps and the volts and the math came out to 170watts... That doesn't make any sense at all. And I don't understand why. And I'm curious if anyone has any idea bc I'm worried my subs are fried or something after just buying $466 worth of subs and boxes. It doesn't look like there's any clipping but if it turn my head unit up by even just 1 I start to earn almost like a small quick popping noise.

You really need to check everything, all connections and fuses, check voltages of power wires at the amp.

Your amp could be blown.

Why is your gain 3/4 of the way up? What’s the RCA voltage output on the head unit?

It's late but tmr I'll check the voltage on the RCA cable and fuses are good wireing is correct connections are solid forgot the voltage but I'll check it tmr as well bc last time I checked was a little over a month ago I really appreciate the help btw

Stuff can always come loose, especially when you’re pounding bass haha

Lmfao not wrong not wrong my rear view mirror broke bc of the bass and I just checked the connections earlier but it was a little dark and so maybe I didn't do as good of a look and feel I'll double check when there's light outside

You're only running that amp into 2 ohms for starters so you'll never see more than 700W out of it even on a test bench into a dummy load and your "only measured 175W" is pretty meaningless if you don't provide the actual numbers and also test at several other frequencies. From there IDK, if it sounds bad when you turn it up too much, don't turn it up that much. Got pictures of the box as it is installed?

I had a situation like this once and turned out to be a bad coil on one of the subs.
Also, make sure there are not any wires touching. Wether it be speaker wires or whatever.

Alright well just to update one of the guys it's not at 2 ohms it's wired to 1 ohm at the amp. Soon I'll check my RCA cable voltage and I might have a bad coil in my subs or my amp might finally be done had it for a bit. And it doesn't sound good when I turn it up any more than what it's at rn I'll post an update about the numbers and **** once I can get up and to my car it takes a bit bc a few months ago I got hit by a drunk driver and I gotta have my friend wake up to help move my sub box im going to put my massive audio 12s back in my car.

RCA output .118v head unit volume 45 sub 80hx control 0-12 hpf- 80-12db did 30hz and 50hz very close to the same. Right subs ohms jumps around from 1.6-2.4 left sub stays at 1.8
