I have 2 12" id max's and will be pushing around 2000 watts to them

Max dimensions are

height=16"

width=34"

depth=18"

These are the dimensions and I want it to be a ported box tuned to around 32-35 hertz.

Help me out here if that would be a good tune for sq and still be able to hit the lows.

I dont' think you have enough room to go ported. I got 4.49 cuft with those dimensions and that's not counting sub and port displacement that you will need to factor in.

I say you go sealed... or one ported.

I will probally go sealed I had a ported box before but i don't think it was properly tuned and all of that good stuff. I think sealed is the way to go then.

do you have your id max ported?

I read that thread before and just now and i'm thinking of going that way. The only thing is that i will have to keep my seats down all the time. i usually do but when I park somewhere i put them up. How did you like the 2 sealed as far as bass?

having your seats down is not a must if you go that route. I have my seats up the majority of the time because i've been too lazy to fold them down all the time, and i can barely notice any difference if there is any.

when I had 2 sealed, it was nice, but i wanted more output. I'm thinking that my trunk or the placement of my box was not optimal for high output. I had vent that I didn't seal up at the time and the box was in the middle of the trunk. Like in HT, if the sub was in the middle of the room, the output wouldn't be as great as if the sub was in a corner.

since you have a pair of IDmaxs... I would definately go IB. My one 12" has very nice output and spectacular lows... Two would just be outrageous.

Then IB i shall go I'm still going to build a sealed box and test it out. I have to start sealing off my whole trunk now. Does this mean I have to take my 6x9"s out of the back shelf?
