Need big help with sub integration into factory stereo

Oh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif
Dayton HO would have been a good one....but sounds like OP has issue(s) other than the sub, itself, anyway
that is funny, I thought the HO too, but with a $250 budget for amp AND sub...well, I was trying not to suggest the cheapest sub or cheapest amp, but a decent mix of quality and sound.

Ok, so maybe the sub itself could be better. However, i am happy with how hard it hits when it actually hits. It vibrates my clothes and my hair. I think the Alpine amp is a winner though. 500 watts rms should be plenty at 2 ohms.

My issue to solve is: bass response is gone with Sirius radio. It bangs my 6x9's real good, but not the 10" sub. Same problem with mp3's on a cd.

Will a sound processor used just on the sub fix this? If so, I'll buy one right now and replace my LOC with it. If not, the sub will go in a proper box for the back on my wifes suv and I'll live with my 6x9's thumpin away.

It could be the quality of sound through Sirius, and the amplitude of the mp3 recordings causing variances in low bass frequencies..This would be the only explanation for the degradation of those 2 vs. a normally mastered CD. I have similar issues with burned mp3's and mastered CD's...but I have 2 15's ported on 2500 watts, so the differences are not quite as annoying to me...but certainly noticeable....and since I do not use Satellite radio, I cannot really offer advice on that aspect.

When you added the LOC, did you nave to reset the gain? how is the LP filter set?..around 80 - 100hz?..subsonic filter off? tried any bass eq?

LP is around 60 Hz, subsonic is off, just a small amoutn of bass boost on the amp set to listening preference. LP any higher causes resonance. The gain on the LOC and the amp is all the way up. With a cd, the remote gain control knob is about half way. With sirius and mp3's, it is all the way up. I guess sirius provides enough bass to rock my 6x9's but not enough to get the sub moving much at all.

Anybody think this could be an issue with a weak signal to the amp? I just got off the phone with a local car audio shop and they said they just installed a system in a 2012 ram 1500, and the volume wasn';t there with sat radio or ipod. he said the voltage from the factory head unit was too weak to get what he needed out of the amps.

All fixed up now. Fix is in the first post!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

Thanks to everyone who replied and has helped me on here. Can't imagine a better sub. If there is, I'd like to know whats better about it. This things is nutz!!
