Need aero port plans. Box alreaty built

well ive decided to port my Q18. I need plans now. Im gunna use my existing sealed box and put port(s) out the top of the box so i have the most volume possible. Im thinking about using 6 or 8 inch diameter aero ports. I want it tuned to 28. My dimentions are 50 x 15 x 20. 3/4 inch mdf all around except on the front which is 1.5 inch. and id say about .4 cf in displacement from bracing and sub. That brings it to around 6.3 cf. Also i only have 12 inches of clearence above the box for the ports so shorter is better. Im willing to pay like 5

using 6.3 ft^3 net and a 6" aero port, you need a port that is a total of 12" long

i belive there is a thread started very recently wondering about where top get 6" aero's. they're pretty expensive and often hard to find. i think precision port was supposed to release one soon, but right now i'd try getting in touch with the forum member that's selling them (livinlife?)

and yeah, for that box volume and tuning a 6" aero port should be 12" long.

U will need at least 2 6" aeroports for an 18" woofer bro. And having it tune to 28hz is really low. Meaning the straight length of the port will be quite long. But the bigger u get on the enclosure the shorter the length of the port will be.

1 6" aeroport is good for a 12 or 15. but an 18... just think about it.

like for my 18xxx it needs around 7-7.5 cu ft to get its full potential and wanted to make an enclosure with my custom DantePorts. But... was talking to a couple guys and they said that one 6" aeroport isnt enough and *might* produce some port noise. Which is why they recommend 2 6" aeroports for 18s. But then that means i will need a straight length of 17-18" instead of that 6.5" from one port.

This is why they suggest aeroports strictly for SPL. lol. Due to having the lengths so short. But having ur enclosure tuned hella low will cause that baby to get looooooooooooooooooooong.

two 4" is less port area than one 6"

you'd need four 4" of about the same length as the two 6"

yeah, you could do that, but some port area would result in the same length needed.

it would be easier to do bends, though.
