a few L7 box questions

ok im wanting to adds another L7 to my s-10 but i dont know how big to make the box. my single L7 is in a 1.75 after the port and sub and tuned to 38 hz. it's ok but i was thinking about making a box that is 5 cubes after sub and port and tuned to about 33 hz.

I was thinking about firing the subs up or maybe down...i found a guy at a local shop who is said to be the best at making boxes and said he can make a box for me for around $130. that's not bad but i think i can make one cheaper myself...

What this is about is he told me firing the subs down in a truck would make them louder ....is this ture...also how many cubes should i go
