Need Advise on this CRAZY Idea. EV's ,Beyma, Super tweeters

Thanks guys...I'll see which way I decide to go. Id be nice If I can find a good quality single 4ohm DJ speaker cab but they are hard to find.

Almost all are made 8ohm and I only want one. If I can some how figure out a way to modify an 8ohm cab to see 4ohms.

I read somewhere that you can wire in 8ohm resistor to trick it so it thinks there's 2 8ohm subs in it. any Ideas on this? if so please send me a wiring diagram showing what I need to do and the parts I need . Thanks I have a 2 12" EV eliminator cabs at home just sitting in storage just waiting to be taken apart. lol

I was in Puerto Rico last spring (I absolutely loved the food, the beach, and old town San Juan). And rest assured we have plenty of PR and DR people here that load their cars with horns and PA mids that's why I say they sound terrible... because I've heard plenty and they're all screechy and honky. Sounds like someone yelling at you through a cheap megaphone.
I would say that YOU have never heard an actual good sounding system, or have a tin-ear and just can't tell the difference. If you want it to sound good for music, work on some good FRONT speaker locations, either door pods or kickpanels, deaden the locations, and use good quality components and a good amplifier. If you want tunes to put outside the car, a small set of bookshelf speakers from a pawn shop would be the easiest and cheapest way to go. They generally sound good and are efficient enough that you don't need to worry about the impedance to get plenty of output. Just set them up on your roof when you are out partying.
I guess that's why they say "To each his own". I personally like the way it sounds especially when listening to Spanish music like salsa, bachata & merengue. I have a lot of pro audio powered EV equipment for Dj'ing so Im use to that live sound. Love it.

Buy a decent DJ cab at least. Don't worry so much about it being 8 ohms since they're very efficient and even a modestly priced amp will put out plenty of power to 8 ohms (particularly if you get a 2 channel and bridge it to 8 ohms).

I will for sure get a decent cab....That makes a huge difference. Last thing I want is a $50 cab screaming at me. Probably an 8" EV or Yamaha...

So lets say I find a nice cab with 150-200 rms and I decide to buy a 2 channel amp and bridge it at 8 ohms, How many watts should the 2 channel amp be in order to sound decent?

Question.. Can I run it off another mono block? reason I ask is cuz that would be cool because I can have more control over it if I run a bass knob to control the volume.

Never mind this question . I just saw the my mono block only goes up to 200hz.... 2 channel it is

Ok so I was reading a bunch of threads on this forum and I found an example of what I want. Take a look at this video .

This is what I want. Just smaller. those look like 10's or 12's... I want some 8's or 6.5's and 2 tweeters....

I would really appreciate if some one can tell me how to wire this all up with the proper crossover.

Even better if you can tell me what to buy. Nothing too expensive but good quality and clear.

It's a bad video but you get the idea.
Thanks and sorry for bothering

LOL...I don't want to show off doors and I definitely don't want to fiberglass my Brand new 2015 Mazda 6... I just want to party at our lake with it.

It is kind of ghetto but it will work for what I want it. It's either that or I make a small custom enclosure and put 2 6x9's in it.

I just don't think the 6x9's will be as loud as a PA system.

I get the idea of what you want. Most people don't like what you want to do, but hey, it's your build, do what you want man. I personally think it's cool. Like at partys or some ****, not necessarily cool when rolling through a residential area lol.

Anyway, I'd just build your own sealed box, put a couple pro-audio 10's / 8's in it and 2 or more compression drivers. Compression drivers get stupid loud and likely wont need more than headunit power (for listening in your car, if you so choose). Otherwise i'd get an amp for them. Compression drivers are way more sensitive than traditional tweeters, thus need little power to get loud. It's what the pro-audio world uses. (Like at concerts / PA events)

So i'd just put an RCA level controller in your dash somewhere, so you can set the level where you want.

Axxess AALC Universal RCA Level Bass/Gain Controller

Then run a speakon cable from your amp to your box you just built and it can be plugged in real quick and ready to jam. All you need is a cable, and instead of building traditional speaker terminals on the box, just get a speakon connector.

It's also what the pro-audio world uses for it's passive systems.

As for crossing over the signal between the speakers and compression drivers, you might want to look at a passive crossover, unless you want to run two speakon cables to the box.

EDIT: ----------

Here's some nice 10 inch - 4 ohm drivers:

http://www.parts-express.com/faitalpro-10fe200-10-professional-woofer-4-ohm--294-1200

Here's nice compression drivers, has good reviews. These only come in 8 or 16 ohms, i'd get 8, but like I said they get stupid loud on low power.

http://www.parts-express.com/selenium-d220ti-1-titanium-horn-driver-8-ohm-1-3-8-18--264-270

All you need is waveguides and you'd be good to go.

EDIT 2: -------

Also, I wouldn't expect much good advice from others on this forum about this topic. To most people, what you want to do sounds equivalent to running horns under your car. Which is a pretty universal no-no. If you need anymore help i'm glad to offer it. Just don't blast it in residential areas and people will be happy.

Thank you very much for all your advise on this topic. Yea I see what you mean about allot of people frowning upon this but trust me I'm not going to be blasting it in residential areas. That's a great Idea on that line level controller. I can put it rite next my subwoofer controller. I have a quite a bit of speakon cables at home I just have to buy the ones for the box. If you see the back seat On the right I have a 15x16 space that I would LOVE to build the box for. This way I can put the seat down when I want to.That would be really Ideal for me so I don't have to ride around with a box laying on my back seats. The only problem is there's really no way I can fit 2 8" speakers and 2 tweeters. That's why I was wondering If they made some pretty good 6" speakers. Or maybe I would just settle for 1 8" or 10" setup should still be plenty loud. I would just have to find a 4 ohm subwoofer and a 4 channel amp so I can bridge 2channels for the woofer and run the other 2 channels to each tweeter.

This place has some pretty good stuff. http://www.usspeaker.com/homepage.htm

I don't understand why you are trying to reinvent the wheel. Just get one of these for your public disturbance fests:

On a side note, it sounds like you are going to have a lot of engine-off time while cranking your tunes. Have you thought of a second battery on a cutoff switch?

Beau M. Never fails. Every forum has people like you. If your not going to help then just skip to the next thread. Negative opinions not need.

It's not like I'm going to change my mind.

Are you trying to run a whole 3 way system out of 1 box? IE: Sub , mid , tweet? The way i've seen people do it, is they would have all their subs and whatnot in their trunk, (Bass is omidirectional) and have their removable box filled with mids and tweets. This is what I would recommend. It would be difficult to build one box with all 3, as you would have to separate the sub and mid.

You could have your subs in your trunk, and maybe build a box for two 6's and two horns (Compression drivers):

FaitalPRO 6FE200 6" Professional Midrange Speaker 4 Ohm

Same line of speaker I mentioned earlier, just a 6" version.

If it's going to be removable and set on your roof for parties, "Tweeters" could do just fine, but I really recommend compression drivers as I said earlier. They will get so much louder and sound great too. Nobody uses them inside the car as they're really hard to do right, but since you want it to also be removable (Right?) and able to bump for parties, I would definitely recommend this route.

dam, i had that boom box, sounded good.

No def ..not a 3way system. I currently have a 10" sub in the car rite now. But yea that 6" setup sounds perfect for me. I'm going to give it a shot.

I'll PM you for more details on this build if I need help. Thank you very much for your help. Much appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif!!!
