Need advice on big setup, please!

Ok...so today i went and talked to the shop guy in person ......the reason the price was sky rocket was he was quoting me 2...yes 2 pairs of the Boston Acoustics Pro series components. Retail for $1100 for both pairs. He is wanting to do an entire fill of both front and back. He was going to use a jl audio 300/4 to push those, not a 500/5 ...sorry about that confusion. Please he is wanting to do $300 worth of trim panels to make everything seem to flush in the trunk....It's mostly just the retail price of everything that's making this particular setup skyrocket...the labor/installation/wiring isn't very bad at all

I have 1 JL 1000/1 with a FI Q, and I would gladly put it up against a W7 in the same setup. don't listen to that re-tard talking about hitting 170db's with two woofers on 2K w. you can get a setup up that good for half that price. get either 2 Fi bl's or Qs-520

Grab an autotek mm2000 amp-600

for comps get 2 sets of mb quart comps if ya want that many comps-400

autoek mm100.4 for speakers-300

ill say get a jvc avx-2 deck-350

=2170

compared to over 4000 for your current setup

you can get pro60's from 12vkings off ebay for 300 bucks a set. good guys to deal with. mine had serial numbers as well unlike some sells on ebay.

you can get pro60's from 12vkings off ebay for 300 bucks a set. good guys to deal with. mine had serial numbers as well unlike some sells on ebay.

I really do have a budget as high as that...but the thing is, i want BIG bass ....like the w7 setup will give me...but without that 6k pricetag...i could use the leftover for whatever else, you know?

Ok...i think i may have just ran into a snag...maybe not, I hope... I got my trunk measured today to do the custom box for the w7's ....just as a ref. The installer said that in a sealed box, the most i can do would be 1.6 cu per chamber, and a mounting depth of NO MORE than 9 1/2 .......the BL'S REQUIRE A PORTED box, and a chamber cu of 1.8 ....but the mounting depth is well below the 9 1/2. What could be my gameplan now????

you could get an unbelieveably better and louder system for that price. All those "sleeper" subs are not heard of from the general public.

Same with Home Theater... I could name like 10 brands that blow away most of the MAINSTREAM crap that a lot of the general public wastes their money on. Most of us could probably name at least 10 brands in car audio that are better than mainstream SUBS.. aka, best buy crap.

W7's.. for the price of those 2 subs (what are you paying for them?) you could probably get 2 better subs for the price of 1 of those W7's

I know i can ....the problem i have, is finding something cheaper than that setup, that will be louder ...and by louder, i mean more SPL, not exactly "louder" , and can hit just as low as the w7 ....i remember the last 2 w7's i had, and man they got pretty **** low with that 1000/1 jl amp...so that's my crisis. I was pretty set on those BL subs, but now i'm not sure i can get them because of my post above.

There are MANY subs out there that are WAYYY cheaper that will crush the W-7.. for 1, check out the AudioQue HD3 look at Digital Designs 9515 (yes you would only need 1) or the...........you can get any sub anyone would recommend on here for less than 750 man, thats frickin outrageous. Look at the new RE Audio MT or the MX You could get an alpine Type R 15" for like 200-220 if you shop around online.

Your problem is you dont have much space to work with for 2 subs, so I'd go with a big asz 15" and port it. Your gonna have a problem gettin the bass you are lookin for with 2 sealed boxes.. Plus those W-7's like ported boxes anyways. Also take a look at the Image Dynamics IDmax if you like the W7

edit: 1 1000/1 JL amp on those 2 12's............not nearly enough power

I decided against the Bostons .....i think i'm going Focal ...alot cheaper, and supposedly better from what i read/hear.

Yes...i am an amature....that's not the point. I need advice for a good setup...people bring their input and i disect and analyze...find the best setup for my personal taste.

I am fully aware that there are better subs out than the w7. The only thing i have to go by is what is in my sig. That was my old system before it was stolen the night before the comps. I also realize that $6k is too much for that system, hence why i am not paying for it without looking into something cheaper and that can put out just as much SPL as those w7's. The only thing i'm concerned about is the low-end. I remember my w7's hitting some crazy *** lows ...

That DD sub you recommended looks very nice spec-wise. I would go with the 12's of course, but none the less....very nice indeed. I would LOVE to get the RE MTs or XXXs ...but their mounting depths are too much for my trunk. You are right, i am working with a limited amount of space.

I have heard of the IDMax sub from a friend quite a while ago....but was never able to "hear" it. Maybe i can find someone around my area with one, and see how the SPL sounds. Other than that, i'm at a loss

hey luzah so i see no luck yet man u should get the 2 w713'' on ebay for like 800-1k 4 both. every 1 on here just hates on the w7 man if u liked your old setup just get the 13w7s and do like 1500 to each and just get a bas *** box 4 them and u will be good.. and 4 all those fvcks talking shit thats what my friend told me he said he hit 170db he should me a pic of it so i dont no but thats his shit but anyways luzah good luck man

nobody hates on the w7's. everyone says they are a **** good woofer. but everyone also knows that you dont have to spend 2x as much when you can get the same performance for cheaper. and no your friend didnt hit 170...EVER.

what do you mean by you dont want loud, you want SPL loud....
