So, my Camry originally came with 5¼" speakers in the real - upgraded them to 6½ and now I'm upgrading again to 6x9s. I've made speaker mounts from 5/8" MDF (10x7x3 inches) with the cutout to hold the speakers themselves because there's no way I can cutout a 5 7/8" x 8 11/16" hole in the rear deck - just not enough room there. Now I'm debating where to mount the speaker mounts themselves. I can 1) mount them to the rear deck (frame of the car) and cut out a square so they could pass through the rear deck panel (a REAL pain in the arse to do) or 2) I can simply mount them to the rear deck panel itself and it would be a much cleaner install. I just sorry about vibrations and sound quality. Will it make any difference either way? Any advice is appreciated...
