Need a system for Mazda RX-8

So, I went to a high end car audio shop and I talked to the guy about my car. He said that he could do the Eclipse AVN5435 and custom fiberglass installed for $2500. I believe that's a pretty good price, he said it's about $1800 for the unit, and then rest was labor/install. The deck on ebay alone is about $1600 so I'm spending about $200 more on having the warrenty just incase something happens with the deck.
He then also said he'd throw in a page alarm for about $350 more installed. This has remote start, pager, trunk open, windows up and windows down button, etc etc. So it came to a total of $2850 for the screen and alarm installed with the custom fiberglassed dash for the screen to fit in my car. Is this a good for the price or what do you guys think?

This still is not having the subs/amps/components/install yet, I still have not yet decided.

That seems so expensive... but it is a huge job so it prolly is about right... **** though! I take it there is no simple install for your car? huge pain in the butt stock unit? -- still that only leaves 650 for the speakers, sub, amp... also get insurance for this setup man you are going to need it... I'd say $300-450 on nice components, $220 for a nice component amp -- Zed audio gladius? , I would point ya at the avalanche series as a cost effective alternative to the W7 series but I'm not sure if they have any left... but that would be $250 for a single 15" shipped -- great SQL sub in a sealed enclosure... 2x Soundsplinter RL-P 15" DVC 4 ohm subs in an IB install would sound amazing... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- or just throw a dayton quatro 15" or two if you are rly trying to stick to your budget... and a cheap little sub amp... tons of options rly... Yes, the stock deck is connected to the A/C controlls and it looks like just one big unit, so the screen is going to need to be fiberglassed into the dash and the A/C controllers glassed to where the ashtray is.

I cannot fit a 15" in the RX-8, you can barelly fit a 12 in it, so that is why I am going with either 8's or 10's.

Take it there is NO trunk in that case... Soundsplinter RL-i 10"ers -- great bang for the size and buck... or quatro 10s are good on the cheap...

Alright, well an update. I have the Eclipse AVN5435 in the car now and we are just finishing up the car, absolutly love this unit to death, now I need to complete the rest of my system.

I don't think I really have the money to do sub/amp/components/amp all at the same time, so I need to decide, what should I go for first? sub/amp combo or components/amp combo? Basically my car has stock Bose Audio, so the speakers arn't that great, but enough to keep me satisfied for a while. I've been bassless for about 8-9 months now and I am really starting to crave the low end in the music.

I really don't know what to get, I was debating 4 9kv2's from ED cause I had two e15k's in my Blazer (before they went to flat cone) and I loved them, just don't know how I'm going to hook them up to an amp cause they are going to be running at a different ohm rating.

I came across a used 8W7 for $200 and I was debating of picking this up and then just buying another one and running two 8W7's but once again, I'll be running 1.5ohms and I had a 12W7 and it was a PITA to find an amp to give that thing the power at 3ohms.

What are your thoughts? Basically want something for SQL and have the potential to get loud when I want it too. Really want it to sound good, it's going in an RX-8 and I want to have trunk space still so I'll probably have to go with 8's. 4 8's would be pretty cool to have too.
