Need a new TV...what to buy

they aren't an american company so i could care less if they make a profit.....they put over 20 of my friends out of a job...i'm willing to pay more if it helps local people stay in a job so they can support their family
I wish everyone have this though process, eveyone else in the world seems too.

i have a samsung 67" dlp. mine DOES NOT have any bulbs or color wheels. mine came with what is called an LED light engine and is supposed to last 10,000 hours, which works out to about 10 years of use , and it uses about as much power as a 100 watt light bulb. plasmas, unless you live up north and need another space heater in your living room use way to much power. lcds also have their issues but i didn't need to put mine on the wall so dlp was it for me. plus in the 67" plus range flat screens were three to four times the price of my 2000 dollar set.

Samsung or Panasonic. I have a 46A550 LCD from Samsung and it was well worth the money to me. I got it from Amazon last year, free shipping of course. The Panasonic Plasmas are also very impressive for the money. Great contrast ratios and excellent picture. Samsung, Sony, or Panasonic IMO is the way to go.

toast....bulb was burnt up too, lot of dust on the bulb cartridge vent:furious:
do you have a lot of dust build up in your house? i've had mine since the first of the year and there is no dust what so ever on the back side. although i had some faulty parts on the power supply burning up the ballast board. the smell of a fried cap is hard as hell to get out of a house. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I had the same problem with my dlp, lamp and ballast when at the same time. I just bought a lg 47" 1080p,120hz, lcd for $1099. The pic is great, had to turn down all the settings way too bright, Hd programming is amazing on it.
