Hi everybody, ive been out of the loop for some time now and i picked up some pieces to a used system to put in my car. Im not looking for hair trick type bass just something to feel the music. My setup is as follows

1 x 12" Dual 4ohm Kicker CVR

1 x ZX350.4 Kicker amplifier

1 x mid range JVC cd player

Power ratings for my Subwoofer:

Peak Power: 800 Watts

RMS Power: 400 Watts

Impedance: Dual4 Ohm

Sensitivity: 86.9 dB 1w/1m

Frequency Response: 25-500 Hz

Power Ratings for my Amp:

ZX Series 4-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier

RMS Power Rating:

**4 ohms: 60 watts x 4 chan.

**2 ohms: 90 watts x 4 chan.

Bridged, 4 ohms: 175 watts x 2 chan.

Max power output: 350 watts x 2 chan.

Tuned Bass EQ (0-18 dB bass boost at 40 Hz)

Bridgeable operation

Variable high-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 12 dB/octave)

Variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 12 dB/octave)

Frequency response: 20-20000 Hz

CEA-2006 compliant amplifier

So what i need to know is how to get the most power out of this amp to get the best sound out of this subwoofer. From the diagrams ive seen online it looks like i have to run it at an 8ohm load which would be way to little power. not sure if i can run it at 2ohms with my setup.

The sub is a dual 4ohm sub id ideally like to know if there is a way to wire it up at a 2ohm load bridged on the amp to get the 350W max (sub is rated at 400w rms) unless thats too much.

Also i had the idea of running each coil seperatly to the amp and bridge them would that get me close.

The amp i have is not ideal for my setup im sure but its all i have at the moment and will eventually use this kicker amp the correct way (4 channels) when i redo all my interiors and set up a new amp for the sub.

I really hope i can get this thing bumping enough to satisfy my needs for a little while, also forgot to mention its in a slot ported enclosure!

Appreciate everyones time and thanks in advance

1. max doesnt exist so youll never get "350 max" out of the amp

2. nope you got 2 ohm or 8 ohm option thats it. so try running the amp bridged at 2 ohms but dont blame me for the fire lol

best bet is run the sub off a single channel at 90w. thats about it but in reality save up $60 bucks get a used 500w mono im sure someone on here has one laying around

im aware i would never get the max rating lol i was just trying to get as much power out of that amp as possible. why the remark about the fire lol, from what i thought i knew that sub should be fine at 2ohm as well as the amp is capable at a 2ohm load right. I bought this amp from craigslist becuase the guy listed it as a 700W amp lol. Like i said im going to use it for a bit then use it for my interiors

The sub can be wired to 2 ohms but idk if the amp will be stable bridged at 2 ohms, which is where my fire remark came from. Running it at 2 ohms might blow it dont know, wouldnt want to find out lol

so to make sure im right, i connect both positive coils together and run that to the positive terminal on the amp - then i do the same with the negative, wire the coils together then connect that to the negative on the same channel which would be a 4ohm load correct?

or what if i wired the sub up as a 2ohm load and not bridge it, that would give me more power and i wouldnt have the worries of it not being 2ohm stable bridged??

No it will be a 2 ohm load. The subwoofer determine the ohm load not the amp.

Your amp can only do 2 ohms on a single channel which is 90w so to gice the sub 90w just run the sub to ONE channel on the amp. But as i said before just get a new amp chances are your going to blow the sub or amp. This amp is NOT for this sub
