so heres the deal ... i have a 12w7 and 750/1 hd amp ...also have a kenitick battery in the back and my headlights still dim and sometimes my car has trouble starting...was told i need a better alternator ....is this true or is there anything is shlud need to solve this problem..............??

If the car has trouble starting that means you may have a slight short somewhere thats draining your battery, or you idle too long with the car off and are playing music which in turn drains the batteries. Have you done the big 3? All grounds used are well sanded down and secured tightly? A battery isolator will most likely fix your problem with the car having trouble starting, but it's more than likely a short somewhere

Your current equipment should be plenty sufficient on stock electrical. You've got a problem somewhere, as Mr. Roux pointed out. A big 3 would always help, but that is not the problem here.

Check the suggestions mentioned above, including a test on your starter battery, and check your alternator.

i'm assuming you are have two batteries, then? its possible your alternator has trouble properly charging two batteries, which isn't too surprising. if this is the case, then to properly charge both batteries, you would indeed need a larger alternator. however, may i ask why you have the second battery? usually, a second battery is good for longer playing time with the car off, or if you have a really large system, provided you can charge them properly. if you were looking to maintain 14v to maximize the power from your amp, know that your jl amp has a regulated power supply, and power output remains constant between 11 - 14.4v, at the expense from increased current draw as voltage drops. if you are looking to reduce dimming headlights, you would need to get a larger alternator.
