Anyone remember the Radio Shack Optimus brand? I had a pair of their boxed two ways...
One 3"mid + 1" tweet in it's own casing. You could mount them anywhere. I also had an Optimus 250w 7 band graphic equalizer. Pioneer Supertuner cassette with the autosearch function. Remember when they were dial radios and 12w/channel was unbelievable? How about the Jensen Quadrax 6x9?? I had 4 pair of them in my mustang. I remember the MM series 6x9 with their plastic cones, replaced my jensens. Then Stillwater Designs came around. For those of you who are still young, they made Kicker truck boxes. One passive radiator, two 8's coupled with two horn tweeters. A full range box. You couldn't buy seperates unless you tore up your dad's home speakers.
I remember when Norman Labs came on board to compete with Stillwater Designs...
once again, an OU/OSU rivalry.
This is old school kiddos....true old school....circa 1982-1988...
In 1988 I bought my first pair of Alpine speakers, some 4x10's for my regal turbo. THEY SUCKED!!!! So I sold them, and bought some pioneers that sounded much better.
