Autotek Amps (1992 bought one from a friend, didn't know what I had b/c I was 16 and I don't remember if I sold it, or what...darn!)
I also had POS Rockwood from the flea market b4 a buddy of mine convinced me to go for the 2x35 coustic after I returned my 6th Rockwood amp. Never went back. And the coustic was more than twice as heavy as any of my rockwood 2x1000w pieces of xxxx!
My friends and I rocked:
G&S Redlines
Rockfords
Autoteks
Orion HCCA's
pair of rare Celestion subwoofers (my friend was the only one I knew who had em, ever...the hugest heaviest magnets I'd ever seen back then, wish I took a pic when he sold em to me, I sold those too...sad to not have kept em)
HiFonics pushing Kickers
Zapco Reference/Competition
Audio Arts
PPI Art Series (these were sweet)
Earhquakes were my best subs back in '92
OZ Audio's
Cliff Designs
Solo Barics (1st gen)
Audio Control Pre Amp Processors
I can't remember the rest...but that's a sweet list, brings back memories //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
My buddies would sell me all their stuff after they upgraded or got sick of their equipment
I even got to see a numerically limited PG Reactor in my friends bimmer. Now that I couldn't afford to buy off him. Custom installed in the wheel well.
If I kept all the stuff I bought off my buddies throughout the years, I would have had a sweet collection by now. I went through so many second hand items, and even sold my systems.
The first system I bought for myself (not second hand):
Kenwood tape + cd changer
10 band parametric eq
(i messed the settings after i left the shop and never returned to get it tuned, never sounded the same)
PG Sapphire 4x35
PPI PC 275
JBL comps w/titanium tweets (man these hurt my ears, don't know how i was able to listen to em when i was young)
and JL Audio 12w4's
Optima Batt + Cap +Dist Blocks, etc
Nice little system. Sold it to different friends of mine after 4 years.
Brings back memories.
Oh yeah, when I was getting my system installed...I saw the hugest friggen monster I'd ever seen. A "Ground Zero" subwoofer the size of a monster displayed on a pedestal! Never seen anything like that in my life back then. Bigger than the celestions. Didn't mind to ask about it though b/c i was getting my JL's installed. Plus, I think the guy told me, and it did look like it needed 2,000 watts to power!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif
