So i just hooked up my RE SX 15 in my Snailshell Hybrid and my god it is the loudest sub i have ever heard. I have 2 JL Audio 500/1's going to it, one on each voice coil. I Absolutley love it. I would post some pics but i dont know how to put the pics on the thread. It insaine i love RE!

its not installed and i have one battery and one alternator at 100 amps i need to get that cap installed i have a 4 cylander and when the bass hits the RPM's drop

The JL's are regulated, shouldnt they be giving the same amount of power no matter what?

no----that is like saying at no gain they are giving the same wattage as if they were at full gain-----you need a DMM to really tell how much power you are putting to the driver.

Ok, thats makes sense, but if you had say 2 orion 1200's and set them to the same, since they are unregulated wouldnt the wattage be different as oppose to the jl's which put out the same power 1.5-4 ohm and 11-16 volts(something like that)

The gain is to match the amplifiers sensitivity to the HU's voltage output, regardless of whether the amp is getting 12V or 15V. Yes, since the Orion's are unreg., the wattage will vary accordingly, but if the gains are properly set to each amp, even with voltage drops/peaks, the wattage from both should stay consistent. The only problem you might have is if one amp is receing more power than the other on an unreg. amp.

i did not use the DMM but im pretty sure that the gains are almost exact and i know forsure the amps are set the exact same other than the Gain
