My Sub Doesnt Play

Ok today i just recieved my new soundstream pic.1700d. I install everything into my car, connect the wires and turn my car on. Turn on the music and my sub wont turn on. Checked my head unit to check if the sub is on and it is. Checked the power on the amp, and the light is on. Double checked the wires to see if their all connected, and they are. Checked the ground wire at my battery to see if the fuse is fried, it isnt. Checked to see if all the wires on my sub are correctly wired and they are. The only thing i can think of is that im sharing 12 gauge speaker wire with some really thin one, maybe 18 gauge. Im wondering if the power is just not going to the sub because of the smaller wire? take the woofer wires outta the amp, and take a 9volt batt hook the wires to it see if teh woofers pop.

i know their shouldnt be anything wrong with my woofer because its a pretty much new 15" tc-3000

Try the amp under more controlled conditions, maybe outside of the vehicle off a battery with an MP3 player as a source. Try it with known good woofers to make sure it's fully functional. This way, you'll be able to tell if it's the amp.

If the amp works, and your sub works on it in these conditions, you're next bet would be to double check the RCAs off the HU under similar conditions.

All I can say is test, test, and test s'more.

take a dmm and read the speaker out put on the amp.

maybe try the filters, is the low pass turned way down and high pass way up?

is there ANY movement?

turn on subwoofer output on HU?

my best bet is that its the amp because i had a pa a1000db like 2 weeks ago and everything was working fine.

Put a God damn 9v to your speaker wire, it isnt proving your sub is blown or whatever youre thinking. If the cone moves, then everything is wired properly, if it doesnt then you have a bad connection somewhere.

This will tell you if your problem is after the amp (connection problem), or at it.

Edit- Did you do a direct swap between amps?

i sold it a couple weeks ago.... during the weekened i might have to use my friends hifonics 1606d to see if its my electrical system.

i dont know how a brand new amp could be the problem though....
