My resources, your design, go!

Oy, folks.

Here's my predicament:

I have a system currently installed link that is not cutting the cheese.

I need to reclaim my back seat from the L7's so I can pick my sister up from school, and needless to say, the trunk of my convertible isn't going to provide the 12 cubes of airspace these 15's want.

That said, I'm Strongly considering guiding my efforts and resources towards a SQ setup.

I've read a lot that SQL (same thing, no?) setups are expensive, but my question is, with the equipment I currently have, listed below, could I take the money I make from selling it all and invest it into a budget sound quality focused setup?

Is it worth it?

What are my other options?

My current setup:

2005 Mustang GT Convertible

Head Unit:

P4300DVD

Power:

eBay 230 amp alternator

big 3 minus engine block to chassis

0 ga all around

Kinetik HC2400

Amplifiers:

(2) ZX1000.1 (2011 model I believe)

I have a multi-channel amp still in the box, that could be an 11ZX350.4, not 100% sure though

Subwoofers:

(2)11S15L7

Speakers:

Stock installed

Kicker replacement for stock sizes all BNIB, unopened, as well as a pair of high power handling 6.5's BNIB

Raatmatt? installed in the doors (poorly)

MASSIVE roll still ready to be installed

What Kicker components do you have? If you were looking to use existing I would go single L& in sealed enclosure as large as you can allow 2.5 cubes is in middle of the recommended. you can go up to 6 but you wont need to. Now I know Im gonna start debate now but I would go with a 10 or 12 sub for SQ since they can be tighter and faster 15 is heavy and slow to respond if truly looking SQ. That's my opinion. the raatmat is fatmat brand correct? that's good stuff just take time installing. you should be close of course you can sell your subs but no one wants l7s much or at least not wanting to pay much anyway. but I would either do single 15 or smaller subs.

Do you mean speakers?

Cause if by components you mean parts, I listed everything.

single L& in sealed enclosure
Is single L& slang for first order?

Where is the middle of the recommend?

As previously mentioned, my trunk isn't that large. The boot on the coupe is, but not the vert.

What 10 or 12 would you recommend for SQL?

I will, and also considering purchasing from sound deadener showdown to really soundproof the car.

I should be close to what?

I've found that to be true. The market for them isn't great but I should get a few bucks back at least.

I'm open to throwing in a 10 or 12. Any suggestions on model?

I meant door speakers. I guess you have the coax sets by component I was referring to a speaker set with separate tweeter and mid with external x-over

I typed L7 with shift pushed

Where is the middle of the recommend?

I was referring to Kickers specs for a sealed box for a 15L7 being able to be in 1.5cuft to 6 cuft. 2.5-3 is in the middle of that . 6 cu is what they recommend for SQ or you can do ported.

It depends on your budget I like JL but pricey I am running Sundown SD-2 10's in my Mini. I am happy with mine. I would look at the Alpine SWR JL w-6 sundown SA or SD-2 line Im guessing you are trying to not go super crazy with electrical upgrade so Id stick in that wattage range 500 RMS + the Sundowns can take well over RMS ratings Im using BRZ 1700.1 on my SD-s and they pound.

I will, and also considering purchasing from sound deadener showdown to really soundproof the car.

There is nothing wrong with Fatmat brand don't get led to the new popular brands bc they pay on these forums.

You should be close to what you want from your system. If your door speakers are the KS line not bad f DS/DX donate to GF/wife If using Kicker the QS line is good or if you can find the older SS sets they are really good and more geared for SQ
