My new set up

Well, all of my stereo equipment just got stolen so I am starting from scratch. I had a JVC-KD 300, 2 IDQ12s, and a JBL 600.1. I think I am going to try getting component speakers instead of subs this go around. Here is what I am projecting. Will this set up work?

Rear speakers:

Sub:

I am new to the component speaker world. All I know is about subs. So any opinions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Orion p6.2's and P5.2's. I have a brand new set of 5.2's which were too deep for my doors but the 6.2's are in my car and a few of my friends have both sets running and they sound great.

I have the lesser of that JVC, but it looks like you might have had, too. Some idiot once told me "Once you get used to a JVC HU, you won't want to switch" and now I'm the idiot repeating it. See about a Pioneer, for the same price a Pioneer HU would definitely be worth looking into.

Infinity Kappas... good, but you have to ask yourself if you can do better for around $250. I think you can.

Rear Fill: No opinion, I don't know of any midbass in the price range, nor any experience of the company.

Amp: high reviews around here, no real experience, but the usual word of mouth is they are somewhat underrated. If that's true, then it looks like a **** nice amp.

Should I consider a different type of speaker for my rear fill? If so, what brand?

And, what other brands around $250 range do you think are better than the Infinity Kappas?

u could find a cdt comp set for pretty cheap from djdilliodon hes got some good prices on comps. i heard the kappas tweeter gets really harsh at times and havent heard anything like that bout cdt. so i would check the out. good luck wit ur new system man

So you guys like your jvc headunits..? I had them awhile ago with the chameleon deck, however ya spell it.. was a cool unit! Anyways I bought the kd-g300 cheapo deck from them for a spare car of mine. It is supposed to play mp3's and all for $104 new! Just wondering what you guys thought of them, I will write a review on it as soon as it gets here, should be here today!

I really liked my JVC head unit. It sounded and looked nice for not that much money.

So would having component speakers in the front of my car and stock speakers in the back of my car sound ok? Should I still get an amp for the component speakers?

I'm running the KDG-300 right now. Well, not right now, I can't turn it on until I get the front right speaker back in, else I risk shorting the channel. I'm happy with it. As far as features and stuff go, it *is* a $100 HU, but it's a good $100 HU. I'm happy with the $150 I paid. Very innovative and easy to use. It does play MP3s, but the seek time is annoying. It's got CD text and MP3 text, it's picky sometimes, but it is a HUGE bonus for such an inexpensive HU.

Not much for EQ options. Bass, Treble, Loud feature. Preout is just an extra rear channel. 2.5 volts. Overall good, better for $100 - $120. Great way to see just how good JVC is dispite the low price tags they ask.

Also, there's no real point in front and rear comps. Unless you're choffering around some rich SQueer.
