I might change my decision on the sub amp, since it still won't fully power the ed8A.44, although I'm sticking all of this in a Regular Cab 1999 Ford Ranger, so I really don't NEED to fully power it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Box I'm building to the reccomended sealed blueprints from ED. It's nice to have your own power tools =]

looks pretty good, xcept i don't know about that amp to power the comps...MUCH over the recommended rms power. Plus, i have heard from peopl that have them they don't take a lot of power very well. BUT, other than that...looks good. I agree on maybe a little mor powerful sub amp...but u'll be good. peace

Do you have any idea how little space there is between the seats in a regular cab ranger without me having to slam my knees against the stearing wheel to drive? :] Besides, that sub has the highest linear xmax of any 8 out there, and is supposed to be amazingly efficient. There's alot of people on http://www.caraudioforum.com who compete with 8's and still have insanly high numbers with the correct vehicle and box.

Bah, it's all about the gains. If I set them properly, I should be fine. I've also thought seriously about installing two Peerless 61/2's in the doors if I don't get enough midbass anyway, so I'll use the extra headroom to power those.

I've had a few friends with the Kappa and Perfect coaxials, and one right now has the Kappa comps I want. From *my* experience (yours may very), they have a history of handing large amounts of power while still retaining amazing SQ.
