After spending the whole day putting wires under the carpet, cutting 6 inch holes in my door, having to switch the connector on one of my speakers b/c MA audio has idiots working for them, I finally finished my install.

First impressions....

-I hate wires

-My Component speakers are loud as hell.

-My 12A is WEAK....the bass is lacking and im getting louder bass out of my midranges than my subwoofer rite now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have the 12A in a 1 ft^3 sealed box. My sub amp is an avionixx 800.2.

Tomorrow i will be fiddling around with all the switches to see if this thing can get loud

ok..i'll check both of those things in about an hour. Reversing polarity won't hurt the sub? I have a feature on my head unit that can switch it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok i have an update:

The bass sounding a little better now but i had to change a lot of setttings. Still isn't that loud but better than last night.

-The gain is set to 4.5v matching my h/u preout voltage.

-The Non Fading output is set to +15(the max)

-The bass boost on my h/u is all the way up

-The bass boost on the 800.2 is half way up

The sub is hitting better but still isn't where i thought it would be.

When i looked at the box when the sub was playing, i felt Air coming out of the terminals. Do you think that this is the problem? I am planning to put silicone on the outer edges of the terminal. Would i be able to put silicone or something else on the metal part of the terminal to quit the leaking?

Rite now nothing really matter cuz my car isn't even starting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I think its the battery because when i had the system on, the alternator was running at about 13.5-13.7 idle. That isnt so bad since w/o my system the alt would only be .2-.3 volts higher

im gonna go and try to get my car started, some1 help plz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yup a leak in your box would definantly be a very possible reason. i gotta start building my box for my HC this week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif im so excited.

Seal up that bad boy.

would it be ok to put silicone on the metal part of the terminal? That's where i feel it coming out...

what gauge wiring are u using? is everything hooked up properly maybe a dumb question to ask but doesnt hurt to make sure. Also maybe theres something wrong with ur amp. Maybe u can try someone elses amp our thats about the same power as urs. just a suggestion, seal up those terminals as well. hope the A meets ur expectations

I would seal that part from the inside so you don't have to worry about screwing up your connections or ability to make the connection.
