u know what i hate! not having a router! haha...im just sitting here bored as hell wanting to finish my box, but no i cant cause i dont have anyway to cut out the hole!

i actually am gonna put the sub as far away from the port as possible, the sub should be right behind the drivers seat and the port behind the passenger side.

He meant internally, the end of the port inside the box is very close to the sub

Use a jigsaw, mang.

well i got the hole cut out, and its taken me about 5 hours to do so, i did it the hard way! i used a rotorzip by hand and drew a circle first, now im just sanding and sanding to make it nice and smooth, or at least the outside circle. i dont care if the inside circle is ugly, u wont see it anyways.

as for covering it, im gonna try out a truck bedliner that another forum member used. i liked the look of it, and if that dont make me happy, im just gonna order black carpet from PE and wrap it.

painting the box as we speak, using bedliner...we will see how it comes out. if not good, im gonna order carpet and wrap it up

well guys, got the box all painted in bedliner. i do think it will work for now, but seeing all the imperfections bothers me so im gonna order some carpet and wrap it. that should hide any ugliness! Now i just need to hook it up and see how it sounds!!!

update, got the box installed in the truck. i love it! thing is since i have such a crappy sub hole, i can feel so much air coming from around the sub. it still sounds pretty **** good! i think once its not 20 degrees here in Ne, im gonna just build another one exactly the same, but take more time on perfecting it and wrap it in carpet. i thought i liked the sound of sealed boxes better, but now i think i like ported. i also just through it in and didnt mess with much tuning crap so im sure it could sound better.

i will say, this is my 3rd jbl gto sub, and i love them...gotta be one of the best subs for the $$$...
