My Lancer OZ build Log ess queue

Here are some updates.

I definitely needed to do some more work. Leaving them like that would have really bugged me. Also keep in mind that they will still be shot with the thicker textured SEM after these panels get to the point that I'm satisfied enough with them. I did some more work this afternoon since I had a good 4-5 hours of time to attack them. Heres some more updated pics:

After sanding and a wipe down. I also sanded down the scuffed up areas on the panel that you could see highlighted above.

In the photo below, I highlighted some of the unusual looking spots in the photo above. The two spots in the top right are actually very smooth. The one on the right is a bit shiny because of he paint, making it stand out. The one on the left just didnt get hit with a good coat of paint so some of the filler color still shows through which is why its visible. The section in the lower part of the panel is going to be tough to make much better as the panel in stock form actually has a raised section there. Im hoping it will look better once I get some texture on there. The little dark spots are spray paint 'spatter' where the can wasnt cooperating. A little light wet sand will cure that.Thoughts?

You might be better off sanding the whole panel where its not taped off so it all looks the same, then apply your texture paint in a few good solid coats so its nice and even, just a thought....Looks real good though! I am getting ready to tackle my pods sson for some three way Hertz comps and I hope it turns out as good as yours is!

Yeah someone had mentioned to me that it might be worthwhile to spray the entire panel with a high build primer and sand down the entire door. I may just end up doing that to ensure a consistent finish. Thanks.

I was just going to post this in your thread on the other forum!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

This is definitely a nice build! When I first saw how you were building the door pods, I hoped someone would get you in the right direction on how to get it done! And it looks like it! A bit more work and it'll look awesome!

I'd definitely scuff up the plastic a bit and hit it with primer, then the SEMS texture, then the dye. IMO that would work better. Unless of course the texture doesn't require primer!
