My install's coming along nicely

You nattering naysayers of negativism here were WRONG!!!

I just spent several CDs worth of music back in Baby II after I got the damage I caused repaired and the amp levels set at least by ear! And there is only one word for Baby II's car audio system: AMAZEBALLS! :)

Let's start with my "front stage" composed primarily of two 5.25" PHD drivers and their tweeters mounted low on Baby II's A-pillars in conjunction with the front door 6x9s. Remember the 5.25"ers and their tweeters are driven by the four 75W outputs of the Alpine PDR-V75 amp and the four 6x9s are powered off the four 100W outputs of my Alpine PDX-V9 amp which also powers the subwoofer with a 500W output. But getting back to the front stage. Those PHD speakers and their tweeters are amazeballs and I SO much need those 6" speaker rings Alexander's making for me (guy from Russia) as that's a limiting factor right now. The driver's side 5.25: excurses too far and interferes with the plastic dash cover over it. I need just a little more room so when I get those 6" speaker rings I will cut a 5.25" hole over each 5.25" speaker and put those 6" speaker rings over them on top of that plastic cover. That should give the 5.25" drivers enough room to excurse as far as they try to! That will unlock the full capability of my front stage, and as I said it's AMAZEBALLS! I can't imagine how excellent it will sound when I go full active EQ!!

Now let's talk about my subwoofer. I burned out my Alpine SWR-t12 slim line sub because my amp's gains were not set correctly and I drove it with too heavily clipped a signa! But it sounded AMAZEBALLS before I burned it out! Now I've replaced it with a JL Audio 12TW3-D4 dual voice coil sub. Guy at Custom Sounds recommended setting then up in parallel for a 2 Ohm load and I agreed because I was getting the sub control knob installed and I was thinking of 8 Ohms as a way of limiting the bass level, but since I now have the knob I said go ahead and wire them for 2 Ohms. And boy am I glad I did! Just enough great bass when I set the sub controlabout 70%. And all the cr ap the denizens yelled about "you're not gonna be able to hear the bass, and cr ap like that were WRONG!! My bass sounds AMAZEBALLS!! Perfectly matching the levels of the front stage! I was listening to Miles Davis "Birth Of The Cool" then into " B itches Brew" and OMG!! I was hearing music in it that I've never heard before!!! I can hear the bass lines VERY distinctly and clearly!

Baby II's car audio system is now doing what I designed it to do! Reproduce a full range of music very loudly and very clearly! No not onto the 150dB range but loud enough for ME! :)

You might want to check again. Someone might be trolling you scumbag.
ROFL!! If someone is running this Facebook scam on me they have messed with the WRONG Internet persona!! I eat scammers like that for lunch!!

The way that scam works is they steam my name and Facebook profile pic and set up an ostensibly my Facebook name, then they send Friending requests to my Facebook Friends (wrong move!) and any acceptances they get they Facebook message them in a very vague but friendly way phishing fot personal info!! ROFL!! Like any friend of mine would fall for that!

Wrong once again.

and quit saying full active eq
full active is speakers separated on crossed over discreet channels

eq is tone shaping
Terminology correction noted and hopefully that will stick with me. Yes to go full active will require rewiring, eliminating the PHD crossovers and driving the PHD mids and tweeters on the four discrete 75W channels on the V75 amp, from four channels of output from the DSP. Right now I'm only using two of the four inputs to the V75 amp from the DSP and RCA splitters to drive the other two inputs, kinda dumb but it works and pretty well really!

John Kuthe...

. EQ is parametric equalizers and stuff like that. Good time correction too! Even with passive EQ I have now I can find with my head the "sweet spot" basically with my face about 10 inches from the HU in the center! I wanna move that sweet spot to the driver's head position! And it ROCKS!! Stereo separation is a good thing! :)

And I can't wait to get in my car (Baby II my 2006 Grand Caravan) this AM and drive down to the local farmer's market and buy my weekly aliquat of produce!!!

Now I have to listen to all my music again!! Hee hee! Got into the Miles Davis last night, I may pop in my Cheep Effects MP3 disc this AM!! Can't wait to hear "Audio Addict", a real test of a audio systems capabilities!! And then there's "The Death of Bugs Bunny" with Eric on a baby grand piano! :) And the inimitable "Goodbye Taism"! So many great tunes!
