my install what flaws...

ring terminals, good buddy. find a near by bolt and put it there.....or drill it but BE CAREFUL if you decide to drill a new hole. you wouldnt want to drill into a gas tank/brake line! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

about the fuses, however.........make sure there is a fuse at least 18 inches from the batt. and everytime you go down to a smaller gauge, you need a fuse. i can explain this further later (as in how to find the correct amperage fuse)

i suppose a distro block could work...personally i dont use them.

that helped but im still kind of confused, are you saying find a near by bold and use a distribution block or find a near by bolt and use a ring terminal? Also, for fuses, doesnt the amp specify that?

i have seperate grounds for each amp. just go from the amp - to the car chassis connected by a ring terminal. make sure to scrape all the paint away from where the terminal will be, like around the bolt.

yes, the amp does specify a fuse. however, ill make up an example. say im just hooking up 2 amplifiers. one (amp A) for the front speakers and one (amp B) for the rears. they both require a 40 amp fuse and 8 gauge power cable. what i would do is this. get 4 gauge power cable from the battery to a distrobution block. 12 inches from the battery i would put in an 80 amp fuse (40 + 40 = 80). from the distro block i would run 8 gauge to each amp. about 6 inches from the distro block on each 8 gauge cable, i would put the 40 amp fuses. now assuming i mounted amp A under the passenger seat and amp B in the trunk, it would not be ideal to use a distro block for the ground. I would just ground the amp as close as possible to itself.

i hope that cleared at least something up.... if not, ask away!

you hook both amps grounds up in the trunk at the same place, they should only be like 16 inches long, u can just take a bolt out of the backseat or where the spare tire is and bolt it there, make sure u sand all paint and rust away first

I just read the crutchfeilds amp install and like speaker install, everything info. I now understand how to do everything and where my flaws actually are. One question, I'm guessing that you put the fuse into the 4 guage wire before the distribution block? Both amps with be trunk installed so I will probaly put the power wire and power lead under the carpet along the edge of the car, it will come up through were the clutch panel and run to the trunk. Does that sound good? Thanks a lot, I'm asking smarter and smarter (or less dumb and less dumb) questions everyday thanks to you guys, lol.

im glad to see that you're gaining knowledge like a sponge. whichever side your battery is on, that is the side you should run the power cable down...and the RCAs should go down the opposite side.

im not sure which amps you are going to be using, so i dont know what size power cable you would need....so i wont mention any sizes...but run a larger gauge to a distribution box in the trunk, and go off from there. im going to sleep now, but have no fear, ill be back tomorrow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

no need for a distribution then. just run everything seperatly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
