i bought my girlfriend a kicker 10" comp sereies sub and i plan on building my own box. A- becuase its cheaper. B- becuase i will have leftover mdf for when i get my CVX's. i am deciding now on a ported box vs a sealed box. i know the differences and id like to go ported but my GF doesnt seem 2 care much. also i dont udnerstand net volume vs gross volume. its that like 1.75 being gross and 1.25 being net?

even though your gf doesnt care if you go sealed or ported.... assuming your gonna be in the car sometimes id go with what you want!

yea, i was thinking sealed becuase it was a 10" comp. but does this mean i can design the box to look like whatever i want as long as it has the right cubic ft measurements?

net is the gross volume minus port displacement and sub displacement

I've used 10" comps both ported and sealed.... they definately come to life in a ported box. Put it in about 1.5-1.75 @ 35 and it'll sing.
