my friend wants to build a box

my friend is dead set on buying a 18 inch subwoofer but he does not want to buy a box. so he asked me to post how he should build his box, he listens to mostly rap and he told me he is thinking about a ported box and he was wondering what else he needs to know or how he should go about building it.

Really depends on the woofer. Get a box design from someone on here
